The Tibetan Mani Stone
|
| As a traditional Tibetan Buddhist practice,
stones are carved or painted with the mantra of Tibet's patron saint of
compassion (Chenrezig).
In so doing, good karma is created for both the artist and anyone who sees the stone. Tibetan text is the writing of the mantra itself in an ancient Sanskrit. It is pronounced "Om Mani Padme Hum". It is literally translated as The Jewel is in the lotus and is known as the 6 syllable mantra. This hand painted mantra will bring good karma & blessings to those who look at it. |
